Several years ago I was spending a fair amount of time posting here and playing a good bit of golf. A new job cured all that and I rarely get to play these days, though I still love the game. I just spent a couple of hours reading some of the posts here and it occurred to me that many of those who post here seeking help are frustrated with the current condition of their game.
Three years ago I was a single digit handicapper and trying very hard to shoot that elusive par round. On the rare occassions I've gotten to play over the past 2 years I've discovered that my single digit handicap has gained a little weight, on a good course these days I'd probably be lucky to break 90.
It is what it is.
There is a good chance I'll get to play this weekend and my expectations are that I'll hit a few good shots and a few bad ones, haven't played since June... My goal is to stay relaxed and enjoy the day, regardless of score. Just being back out on the course playing a game that I love and miss terribly is reward enough.
For those of you who have the opportunity to play a couple times a week and shoot scores that you're not happy with, I wish you much luck in your quest to improve. If you can separate the trolls from those who have knowledge of the game and a willingness to share it, there is a wealth of good advice here. The place to use that advice is on a range, working to improve. When you get to the course, your dance partner is pre-selected....so RELAX, enjoy the round and know that no matter what you shoot, there are some who'd trade places with you in a heart beat if they could!

PS: I see that Joro is still swinging that 8 lb warmup maul and DeepEddie is still sharing his love of the game. Good to see you're both doing well!
