Golf on TV - More annoying than "get in the hole?"    Back to Topics  Page: 1 of 6

It's the practice of a few dopes in the crowd yelling out the name of the player who is next to play the shot; has the honor. This didn't begin with Tiger Woods, or Phil Mickelson and it has been around for quite some time. Can remember it when Fuzzy Zoeller or another crowd favorite was about to hit.

"Get in the hole" is really stupid, but it doesn't disrupt the golfer as they are preparing to play their shot.

'Get in the hole' is still the most annoying one for me, tho I am sure something will come along to be even more annoying. Haven't heard the one you are talking about yet, but I am sure I will be miffed when I do.

I think that there are often people who find their way into (US) sporting events simply because they are sporting events that yell this Kwrap, because they saw it on TV.

I watch a lot of early morning (5:00AM am PST) telecasts with Euro tournaments and I don't hear this garbage.

That is due to the fact that Wal-Mart has not made its way to Europe. If you noticed the crowd, the majority looked like they just stepped out of Wal-Mart and were heading home when they decided to go to a golf tournament in their WM outfits.
