I have lost my game and i can't find it. A little bit of a background. I am usually an 11 but slowly the last 2 months i have crept up and up, hell last time i played i was 94!!!!,. My best score has been a 74 and when the golf gods are smiling on me i can get it into the high 70's. If it isn't the driver then its the irons, then chipping then putting. My golf buddies are just as preplexed as well, and are not short on giving me advice, most think its that i am losing the angles just before impact so that i am almost flipping the club before impact causing thin shots mostly to the right. In fact the last round i skulled 14 shots. Truely demoralizing. The worst part of it know is that it is in my head and i have lost all confidence. Anybody else gone through this, its killing me. Thanks,

Back to the BASICS as you rebuild your game and your confidence.

Get a lesson. I bet you will be surprised at how quickly you will get it back if you just work on one or two correct things. If you spend too much time trying to fix it yourself, you may compound your mistakes.

Thanks, i agree but i live above the 49th parellel and it's getting cold. May not have a chance to go out again and work on it. I'll probably have to go indoors to work it out.

Either that, or just forget about it for the winter, and see what's going on next spring...

This answer may seem a little lightweight, but I assure you, it is the correct starting point. Check you address posture ... make sure your hands are not too far away where you are reaching for the ball, make sure your back is relatively straight (kill the humpbacked whale) and your chin is NOT down into your chest, finally make sure your weight is balanced on the balls of your feet (just stand flatfooted like in everything else. Visit http://craftsmithgolf.com/Posture.htm for a more complete explanation ... nothing for sale; under construction.

Next, look at the ball and smooth out your transition. For this you can visit http://craftsmithgolf.com/Shoulders.htm

Hope this helps!

Unless you live in Vancouver or Victoria I would put the clubs away till April. Good time to reformat the golf brain.

"My golf buddies are just as preplexed as well, and are not short on giving me advice,"

First, put a stop to that.

Fundamentals, get back to the fundamentals. Think about each shot not the final score.

You didn't own your swing. Chances are you tried this and tried that and had a bandaid for this and a bandaid for that. THEN you are playing well and started trying to hit it harder. ALL recipes for disaster. Take a PW and make half swings until you get your sense of timing and feel back.
